Tim Arbuckle, Dismas Alum, Speaks in Support of Dismas

A closeup photo of Tim wearing a black shirt. He is smiling.

My name is Timothy Arbuckle.

I was released from prison in October of 2022, and took up residence at Dismas House in Hartford, Vermont. Prior to my prison time I had been using drugs that had been affecting my life in the most negative way possible. That had been my way of life for the past 5-6 years.

After my release from prison, I needed structure, positivity, guidance, and responsibility. I did slip up and relapse within the first three weeks at Dismas House, but as they say, "relapse is a part of recovery."

Dismas gave me the tools to take responsibility and take action to correct my life in a positive way, which I had not experienced from anyone in a long, long time. So I took this opportunity to focus on myself while I had the support from Dismas staff and shut the book on that drug-using lifestyle forever.

I am now maxed out from supervision and have held my job at Brady Plus for two years. I am completely clean and sober since that relapse in October 2022 and I'm a totally different person. I owe all my success to Dismas House and the staff for believing in me and guiding me to my full potential and changing my life for the better.

If someone is dealing with trauma or addicted to drugs or alcohol, I recommend Dismas House 1110%. They are here to help people in need and reintegrate people back into society in a positive, safe, and successful way. Thank you Dismas for everything you have done for me and our community.
